He soon transitioned into the construction and engineering sector, taking a project engineer position with Sverdrup Engineering. There, he managed the demolition and expansion of Concourse D at the SeaTac airport, setting the stage for a career in contracting.

His first role at JH Kelly was as a Field Engineer in Klamath Falls, Oregon. His subsequent positions involved managing significant industrial projects and operations that took him across the Pacific Northwest. His capabilities led him to become the Business Development Manager and, eventually, the Director of Marketing and Business Development for JH Kelly.
In 1999, he accepted a leadership position with Cal-Air in San Diego, where he enhanced his skills in leading sales teams. After four years, he returned to JH Kelly as Vice President, eager to apply his refined skills in his familiar professional environment.
